How does this happen? I just wanted a nice game where I didn’t have to count higher than two, and I ended up dealing with imaginary numbers. But let me back up: I’ve been a little obsessed with a puzzle lately, and I would like to explain what’s puzzling me and how the square root of –1 can sneak in where you least expect it.
